Help us Continue our Mission

1.png

Dear Supporter,

2.pngWe are proud to have completed our 11th year as an organization and our first year as the umbrella organization for both the Wrightstown Farmers Market and Doylestown Farmers Market. We believe it should be everyone’s right to have access to and be able to feed themselves, their families and communities abundant locally-grown healthy food. With your continued support, Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is able to help make that belief a reality.

That is why I have joined the board and team of volunteers at Bucks County Foodshed Alliance to work toward this important objectiveto build a resilient local food system through education and collaboration. It is why we present farm tours, films, speakers, and culinary demonstrations; why we oversee the county's beloved year-round Wrightstown Farmers Market; why we happily accepted responsibility of the Doylestown Farmers Market after a 40+ year history; why we maintain a lively and informative website at BucksFoodshed.org, including our E-Guide, and Bucks Buy Fresh Buy Local®.

Lacking for Space? Try Container Gardening

by Jackie Edwards

Not everyone in Bucks County is blessed with a large enough garden or yard to grow vegetables or herbs. It can seem like a hopeless situation, but it’s not. Container gardening offers people with all kinds of properties - even balconies in an apartment block, the chance to grow a wide variety of plants and flowers. Furthermore, each container can become its own microcosm with its own soil type and composition, which means you can grow a wider variety than is possible in the ground.
