Building Healthy Organic Soil in your Garden

BCFA presents a panel discussion on building healthy organic soil for your garden Wednesday, March 2, 7-8:30pm at Plumsteadville Grange. There is no charge for this event, but donations are requested.

Panelists include Amanda Midriff and Jamie Sims of Locust Light Farm in Solebury, John Crooke from Tinicum CSA in Upper Black Eddy and the BCFA Board of Directors, and Bucks County Master Gardener and lifetime organic farmer Jim Schmitt.

Their presentations cover what constitutes a healthy soil and why it makes a difference to what you grow, the benefits and how-tos of soil testing, how to use cover crops in a smaller space to build soil health, and more.

After presentations, the panelists are prepared to field a wide range of questions about soil health in general as well as specific questions about attendees’ gardens.
