Garden Tips

  • Water your garden in the morning to conserve moisture loss. This will also help to prevent mildew and other fungal diseases that occur at high humidity levels.
  • Some vegetables become better and sweeter after a first frost. These include kale, cabbage, parsnips, carrots, and Brussel sprouts.
  • Grow vegetables in a location that gets at least 8 hours of direct sunlight every day. Cool-season crops, such as lettuce, spinach, radishes, and cabbage do well in the shade.
