Bucks County Foodshed Alliance will open the new year with its annual meeting on Wednesday, January 3, at 6 pm at the Plumsteadville Grange, 5901 Easton Road, Plumsteadville, PA 18949. The event features a potluck dinner and an educational talk on local honey accompanied by a tasting.
This year’s theme is Savory and Sweet! Savory: bring your favorite dish, soup, or side to our potluck portion of the evening and sample everyone’s savory creations. Sweet: Taste some local honeys and learn more about them. Local beekeeper, Chuck Pressler of Bucks County Apiaries will be on hand to answer your questions.
Why is some honey light and others dark? Why do they taste different? Our beekeepers will answer your questions. Our farms need pollinators to grow our food; what can you do to make your yard pollinator friendly?
The honey Q&A will begin promptly at 6:00pm. The potluck meal begins at 7:00pm and a short business meeting is held at 7:40 over dessert. Please bring a main, side, dessert, or beverages to share and your own eating utensils. Locally sourced ingredients are encouraged.
While there is no charge for this event, donations to support BCFA’s initiatives is cheerfully accepted.
