Use Your Gourd: A Winter Squash Tasting

Go Beyond Butternut!


Even if you’ve tried baked acorn squash or surprised your family with a creamy butternut squash soup, another 10 or 12 varieties of the hard-shelled lumpy vegetables may remain unfamiliar and untested. The Squash Tasting, presented by BCFA, is an opportunity to experiment with the edible winter squash family. 

Our local farms will supply the winter squash and pumpkin varieties and the culinary arts students at MBIT will be preparing the squash so that the flavors shine.

Farmer Brenda Slack of Milk House Farm Market will be our guide for the evening. Handouts and recipes to take home will be available.
